About

The University of Alberta West Coast Swing Dancers was originally formed to offer people a place to develop their west coast swing knowledge and skills, no matter their level. The intent is to generate interest in all aspects of west coast swing, including social, artistic, and technical, and to aid west coast swing dancers to connect both with each other and with resources to improve their west coast swing knowledge and skills.

Your Executive

President Nadia Ady (pronouns: she/her or they/them) founded UAWCS in 2016. She is currently a PhD Student in the Department of Computing Science studying computational curiosity in the realm of reinforcement learning and artificial intelligence.

Vice President Treasury Maxine Myre (Max) is a PhD Candidate in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation with broad interests including health and health promotion, writing, design and digital media, science outreach, and much more!

Vice President Membership Roshan Shariff (pronouns: he/him or they/them) is a PhD Student in the Department of Computing Science working on a variety of interesting problems in reinforcement learning and bandit algorithms.
